Q: When was Sioux Falls DJ Squad
Established and why haven't I Heard of Sioux Falls DJ Squad
before?
A: Sioux Falls DJ Squad was
established in October 2008, we officially started to conduct business in 2009.
The reason why the general public did not know of Sioux Falls DJ Squad is
because we offered our services to other entertainment companies which would
"over book" or had an emergency and needed a back up DJ.
Our services extended to several businesses in and surrounding areas
of Sioux Falls.
Q: Would you be able to give us the names of the businesses that
used your services for reference?
A: No. Sioux Falls DJ Squad has a
privacy policy with in our contracts to other entertainment businesses
protecting their information. Therefore information may not be given about
our past performance with these companies.
Q: How Many DJ's Are With Your Company?
A: Currently we have 7 DJ's Plus the owner for a total of 8 DJ's. We have a rotation that
provides at least 1 back up DJ for each weekend if anything tragic was to
happen. Therefore we can guarantee you will have a DJ at your event
regardless of any unforeseen emergency.
Q: Can We Request a DJ?
A: Yes,, providing
the DJ has not been requested already or is unavailable on that date. In some situations, DJ Squad may reassign a DJ to the event pertaining to employment status.
Q: When do you
arrive to set up?
A. We
arrive approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours before your guest arrive depending upon the intensity of
the system we are using for your event.
Q: What grade of equipment do you use?
A: We use several different brands of equipment;
however, we only use professional grade equipment. This means, equipment that
is specifically designed for mobile DJing. Much of our equipment include
brands such as Dennon, Nuemark, Vocal Pro, American DJ Lighting, Chauvet
Lighting, Behringer, Cerwin, JBL Pro, Global Truss, QSC, Technical Pro
and Shure just to name a few.
Q: On your website, it stated that DJ
Squad Uses Digital Turntables. Exactly what is that?
A: Back in the mid 80's to early 2000, Night Club DJ's
used records or Vinyl to spin in the clubs. We currently use Digital Turntables, meaning
that we can create the same feel you would when using a record, just
with MP3 music files instead. We have 2 types of DJ styles in our company. One is
pre mixing, which our DJ's use a Laptop with pre recorded mixes they have done
and play periodically through the event. This frees up the DJ time and
they are then able to interact with the crowd on the dance floor.
Our 2nd style is Live Mixing; this is where the Turn Tables come to play.
We are able to play 2 songs at once and make it sound as a single song.
This can be accomplished through out the night and the DJ is also able to
create a more club like atmosphere.
Q: Are you fully insured?
A: Yes, any DJ company that is not insured should not
be in business.
Q: Do you take request
A: Yes, All our DJ's take request from you and you
guest and will work it into the show. If a request is not appropriate we let
the client make the final say. All our music is fully edited and family
orientated.
Q: Do you go longer than contracted or have
overtime?
A: Yes, if you feel you want to go longer than
contracted we will be happy to play longer per.
Q: Do you travel outside of Sioux Falls?
A: Yes, any event outside a 30 mile radius of Sioux Falls is subjected to
a $1.00/mile one way charge. For example, a event in Brookings, SD would be
$56.00. Any event exceeding 120 miles is requested to
reserve a room for the DJ. The client is not responsible for paying for
hotel room for the DJ, reserving a room is greatly appreciated.
Q: Can we visit an upcoming show before booking?
A: Absolutely NOT. No one likes crashers and this
is their night. We want the DJ to be focused on those client's needs and not to
be worried about an upcoming client. We can provide references of past
client testimonies and video of past shows. Would you want crashers at
your event? Also each event is different. Your musical taste may be different
than what the show is required. Therefore your event may differ. In some cases we may have an event that is open to the public. You may attend these events and we would be happy to let you know when those events will be. Just keep in mind some events will be far different than the type of music we would play for a wedding. For example, a club may want techno where at a wedding we would play more traditional music which is formatted to your musical taste.
Q: What is your policy regarding
Alcohol (drinking at the job)?
A: As a professional DJ service - we do
not drink Alcoholic beverages before or during our shows. We are focused on the event and
will not bring, purchase or accept any alcoholic beverages while on the job.
Q: Do
you accept credit cards/debit cards?
A: Yes...
We can accept credit card payment online through our online payment gateway, or over the phone.
Q: Do you host any interactive games?
A: Yes, each event is unique. In some instances, it
may need a crowd participation game to get the night going. All our games are
of course family orientated and are at no extra cost to the client.
Q: Do you bring any props such as inflatable instruments, glow rings/necklace, party hats, sunglasses or other party props?
A: At this time we do not include any party props with our packages, however, you may request that we bring some. Depending upon if the props are a one time use only, we would advise if there is any additional fees that may be needed to accommodated such a request.
Q: Are all your DJ's Employee's or sub contractors?
A: Most of our staff are employees, however, there is the exception of one individual whom we have worked with for years and trust. He is available through us and is able to be booked through Sioux Falls DJ Squad. He still holds up to our standards, policies and procedures and is still treated as an employee. The only difference is that he owns his own equipment and music media and is paid at a higher rate of pay.
